From cultivation and harvesting to processing, we set high standards. Nuts and fruit from sustainable sources, our own recipes and innovative refinement processes are what make our “Farmer's Snack” so special.

We are proud of our Seevetal production site, which is one of the most modern production facilities in Germany and has been climate-positive* certified since 2022. Today, we stand for a trend-conscious lifestyle that combines an active, healthy life with quality, enjoyment and sustainable responsibility - always with the right healthy snack.

WE ARE FARMER'S SNACK

A FAMILY BUSINESS SINCE 1971

Back then, there was no talk of Farmer's Snack. Founded in Munich as an import business, first the idea and then the name changed. The company then traveled across Germany to Hamburg and from there out into the world.

Christoph Avenarius joined the company in 1989, and today's Managing Director Cornelia Ahrens has been on board for over 20 years. In today's snack family with over 180 employees, a large number of colleagues have been part of the innovative history of Farmer's Snack nuts and dried fruit for many years.

Quality, innovation and sustainability based on transparency guide us in all areas of the company and in relation to consumers, retailers, competitors and our suppliers. What exactly does that mean? Managing Director Cornelia Ahrens gives you an insight into what we do:

“I love the daily variety that comes with the production of high-quality snack products. My own childhood on a farm on the edge of a moor gave me a deep understanding of our environment and the needs of nature. During my studies in ecotrophology, I immersed myself in the world of nutritional science. In my current job as Managing Director of Farmer's Snack, all of these topics come together.”

Our quality standards guide us from the field to the consumer.
In other words, the quality of our products and our work is always our top priority.

“We know each of our local partners personally. We visit the fields and the production facilities. We test the goods - over and over again. Until we are absolutely sure: This is a Farmer's Snack! So that you can always rely on the quality and taste of our nut kernels and dried fruit and that we always find the best!” reports Cornelia Ahrens.
 

For many years, we have been committed to social and environmental issues at the local origin of our raw materials. This is because we want to treat our local partners and the world's natural resources responsibly. For us, sustainability today means meeting the extensive requirements of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the best possible way.

“Sustainability and social commitment at the source - that is a matter of course for us”, Cornelia Ahrens transparently conveys this message to the outside world.

 

Innovation is at the heart of our DNA - for us, this means always thinking in new ways. We promote innovative processes and differentiate ourselves through product innovations and technical innovations.

“The origin, time of harvest and texture of a nut influence its taste and the perfect degree of roasting. That's why we have been using a unique process at our production facility in Seevetal since 2016: We refine our nut kernels ourselves in our own kettle roasting facility. We roast each variety differently for a perfect roasted aroma.”

 

Transparency forms the basis of everything we do: we are transparent in our actions and work with our customers, partners and employees in a spirit of trust. Our Code of Conduct provides internal and external clarity regarding our corporate values and conduct. We also regularly publish a sustainability report on our activities and are certified by IFS and EcoVadis, among others.
