The secret behind our delicious pineapple
Why South Africa of all places? The answer lies in the untouched and diverse landscapes of this region. They meet authentic African traditions. For us, this means: nutrient-rich soils and a perfect climate on the one hand. On the other hand, a high degree of manual labor, traditional techniques and structures that were designed for low production volumes. But above all, we have found dried pineapple rings here in the south that we have never tasted before!
How are pineapple rings made?
The secret is the close cooperation with our partner and the short distances between the field and production. In a special way, both steps take place just a few hundred meters apart. Instead of storing the fruit after harvesting so that it can be transported to warehouses far away, our pineapples are washed, peeled, stalked and sliced into rings immediately after harvesting, right next door. Our pineapple rings then enjoy an extensive sunbath in order to dry quickly and gently. This traditional method preserves the pineapple's wonderful taste, aroma and vital substances. The pineapple rings then find their way into the bag just as quickly before they make their way to the shelf.
Original project in the Eastern Cape
We believe in short transportation routes to preserve the taste and protect the environment. A concept that we have promoted and developed with our own original project: Together with our partner, we tinkered, thought and tasted. Product development, in one of the most beautiful places in the world. At the same time, we helped to expand production as part of our origin project, were able to increase the quantities produced and set the course for the kind of quality that only Farmer's Snack can deliver. You can taste the result: Fruity, large pineapple rings. Natural and with the pure taste of pineapple. Particularly even, and with a subtle difference.
