We published our first Farmer's Snack sustainability report for 2020 - since then, a lot has happened in terms of our commitment to sustainability. Here you can find an update of the small and large projects that we implemented between 2020 and 2023.
GutVertrauen stands for trust in our work, dealing with nature, the climate and the environment in harmony with our qualities. That is why we are on the ground and ensure that our products make their way from the field to you. We want to contribute openly and transparently to positive change and invite you and all consumers to actively accompany us on our path to greater sustainability. At Farmer's Snack, we understand GutVertrauen as the merger of various projects such as GutesLeben, GuteUmwelt and GutesProdukt.
We prepared our first comprehensive CSR report for 2023, which was certified by the German Institute for Sustainability and Economics (DINO) and served as the basis for our first internationally recognized sustainability certification by EcoVadis. We are currently working on a new sustainability report for all consumers and partners, which we expect to publish in fall 2024.

2020
Optimization of waste separation
To make waste separation as easy as possible throughout the company, we equipped every office in the administration department with suitable waste garbage cans: waste paper and packaging waste can now be conveniently separated by employees directly at their desks. All other waste is collected separately in the kitchens.

Re-use coffee cups
In our DINING COOL lunchtime meeting point, we have completely dispensed with disposable coffee cups since 2020, so employees who want to enjoy their break outside in the fresh air can take their coffee with them in reusable bamboo coffee cups, which are cleaned in the dishwasher when they are returned.

Sparkling water dispenser
Since 2021, water dispensers with fresh water from the tap have been available in the administration kitchens, where employees can draw fresh water of sparkling quality at any time, thus saving us the purchase and transportation of the previously used returnable glass bottles.

A bee flowering meadow for World Bee Day
Bee a Friend: For World Bee Day 2021, all employees were given the opportunity to actively help the bees themselves and plant a bee flowering meadow.at the same time, all customers of the online store received a seed bag with an order.with cornflowers, corn poppy, dill, summer rape, mustard, oil radish, marigold, coriander and sweet clover, they provided a colorful range of flowers for bees.we continued the campaign in April 2022 in our online store.

We publish our first sustainability report
Farmer's Snack's first sustainability report brings together the small and large projects, our challenges, ideas and visions - because we want to openly contribute to positive change and take interested parties on a journey to our origins, into our production and into the heart of our commitment to greater sustainable responsibility.

"Assured sustainability"
The German Institute for Sustainability and Economy certifies our company and production site for the first time as "Assured Sustainability" - an incentive for us to do even more!

Health promotion: We are HanseFit!
Before the pandemic, we promoted the health of our employees with an "active lunch break", among other things, and since summer 2022, employees have been able to take advantage of HanseFit's extensive range of exercise and sports activities. Farmer's Snack also offers regular check-ups and vaccination appointments with the company doctors.

Conversion to company car fleet
Our Managing Director is setting a good example - with her electric company car, our company has started the long-term process of converting the company car fleet of administrative staff and the field service team, and corresponding e-charging stations have been integrated into the infrastructure of the company premises since 2023.

We're sailing on the Alster again
A company tradition that we were happy to start again in the summer months after the coronavirus pandemic: every Thursday after work, employees go sailing together on Hamburg's Alster, with Farmer's Snack providing the sailing boats free of charge.

We are strengthening our compliance management
Since summer 2023, our own feedback and complaints system has been expanded to include a professional external reporting office. Internally and externally, our whistleblower hotline can be reached by phone or email and is available to all employees, temporary workers and all external natural persons who come into contact with our company in the course of their professional activities, such as suppliers, service providers or contractors.

The coronavirus pandemic has changed a lot and we are responding to the social impact on our current working environment by pursuing our own internal transformation path: Starting with a collegial "you", revising our internal regulations to create a contemporary "Code of Conduct" or redesigning our intranet with a newsletter, we want to contribute to the well-being of our employees.

Job bike by JOBRAD
Since 2020, employees have been able to use company-owned bicycles to cycle to work instead of taking the car or bus.The job bikes can also be used for short errands and trips to the surrounding fields during lunch breaks. At the end of 2023, Farmer's Snack launched the JobRad offer for all employees to make cycling even more fun, promote health and protect the climate with bicycle leasing.

Seevetal city cycling
Cycling for a good climate - Farmer's Snack has been supporting the local community of our company site as a sponsor since the first edition of the Seevetaler Stadtradeln in 2021, and winners from a wide range of categories received product packages in 2021, 2022 and 2023. At the start, together with the local community, we drew attention to our production site and the neighboring opportunities for bike tours and walks.

We wanted to do something for the climate: Farmer's Snack employees therefore switched from cars and buses to bicycles! 90 days of cycling to and from work resulted in a professional SPEZIALIZED bicycle for personal use.

A real Farmer's Snack tradition now in its third year: during the warmer months, employees from trainees to management once again got on their bikes to save CO2. With a daily total of 90 days, there was once again a nice salary bonus.
